Explora — Installation at Tiguex Park

Multiple pieces were fabricated for Explora, an innovative experiential learning center in the heart of Old Town Albuquerque.

We partnered with Explora’s architectural team to produce several laser-cut art installations featuring intricate lettering and patterns. The highlight, Pebble Melody, was a multi-component fabrication designed as both sculpture and musical instrument.

Our team achieved a dimensionally precise half-moon structure by individually welding hundreds of small tubes to the interior panels — each one tuned to create a chime-like resonance as pebbles cascade across the surface.

Using advanced CAD modeling and precision fiber-laser cutting, Rio Grande Laser fabricated all components for seamless on-site assembly at Tiguex Park in Albuquerque.

Beyond laser cutting, we delivered end-to-end fabrication, from design development to our signature accelerated natural rust finish.
